This affordable housing project is actually two separate buildings, meant to stand alone as individual design studies. The 64-key precast building offers a nod to its historic neighbor at the north façade with a series of ribbons, separated by glass and aluminum. The broader west façade is articulated with large punched openings, which add a level of texture and interest with varied sizes and locations of aluminum panels.

The 12-key wood-framed building to the south draws from a hemisphere concept. The masonry side to the west plays with an undulating form punctuated by large canopies to mark the two entrances. The cement board-clad east façade is a study of of texture and color, which adds interest using an inexpensive material.
